How to lose weight? What is the best way to lose weight?
This is the million-dollar question that so many people ask me. Here’s a few more, how do I tone up, how can I lose belly fat, how do I lose weight around my arms? How, how, how… There is so many variations of this question, I could be still typing them tomorrow. The bottom line is, everybody is different. Don’t be fooled by all of these so called magic pills. They are not good for you. The magic is commitment and consistency!!
Let’s speak about it in a different way. So, you don’t like a certain part of your body. You are not on your own. We all have a part of our body that we are not too fond of. Did you know that actors, models and famous people also have parts of their body that they do not like? This is something everybody deals with.
What can be done about it? You must be honest with yourself and ask, how did I get here? When you consume food, you put it in your mouth, chew it, swallow it and think nothing more of it. Do you stop to think, have I had enough? Am I full? You probably did not and this is where it all begins. If you eat too much food, you will gain weight. If you happen to gain weight, you cannot choose where the body stores it, likewise, you cannot target specific areas where to lose fat. This is how we end up with parts of our body that we do not like.
So how do I lose weight… It’s not rocket science. You need to create a calorie deficit one way or another. A calorie deficit is the difference of “energy in versus energy out”. Good food or bad food doesn’t really come in to the equation just yet and here’s why…
If you eat the same 2 bars of chocolate everyday and you want to lose weight, what do you do? You need to cut down to 1 bar every day and go for a 20 minute walk instead of eating the other bar. Now you have cut out calories by reducing your intake and added exercise… there is a deficit, right? This will start the process. This is only a baby step but it’s crucial to start somewhere. You will also need to drink more water. Nutrition is vitally important but we are only talking how to loose some weight here. Nutrition is a different blog for another day.
Let’s get back to the calorie deficit or the “energy in versus energy out”.. You will need to exercise more and it vitally important to find an exercise that you enjoy.
